Pixasolar has reached an important new milestone: verified environmental product data is now available across our complete BIPV product range.
Environmental Product Declarations for photovoltaic products are often limited to a specific module, configuration or product family. Pixasolar’s EPD takes a broader approach, covering the full BIPV range and making verified environmental performance data available across the different architectural solutions we offer.
The results of the underlying Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) have been independently verified by MRPI. The environmental information is made available through the ECO Platform in accordance with European harmonised standards, allowing the data to be used consistently in projects across Europe.
Environmental data without restricting design freedom
BIPV projects often require variation in colour, transparency, dimensions and façade expression. By covering the full Pixasolar range, verified environmental data supports that design flexibility rather than restricting it to a single standard configuration. Architects retain greater design freedom, while consultants, developers and building owners can assess environmental performance across a broader range of façade solutions.
From individual products to a documented BIPV platform
For Pixasolar, this includes PixaBlack, PixaColour and PixaLucid, developed for different architectural applications ranging from opaque and coloured façades to semi-transparent solutions. Verified environmental information is therefore embedded across the wider product platform architects and engineers can work with.
Why this matters for BIPV
This is another step towards making BIPV easier to design, assess, compare and specify. Following the inclusion of PixaBlack, PixaColour and PixaLucid in the Dutch National Environmental Database, the EPD further strengthens the environmental evidence behind the Pixasolar range.
Together with our NMD registration, BCRG energy-performance data and verified technical product performance, it contributes to a broader evidence base for the Pixasolar BIPV platform.
